Cod

Cod is a large sea fish of the Gadidae family that lives mainly in the North Atlantic. It has white, tender and highly appreciated meats. Its body is elongated and can reach a maximum length of 180 cm; it has a brown-gray color on the back and almost white on the belly.

In Italy it is sold either fresh or frozen, in slices and fillets. The dried and salted cod is called saltedcodfish, if it is only dried, then it is called stockfish. Cod is eaten boiled, baked, pan-fried, grilled and stewed.
