Corn

It will be enough to know that pre-Columbian civilizations thought that man "descended" from the cob of corn to realize the millennial importance that this ingredient of South American origin has had over time.

Of corn (milho for Brazilians) there are dozens and dozens of varieties different from each other in color, size and flavor.

In Latin American cuisine it plays a fundamental role and for this reason there are many types. In African traditions there are also drinks based on corn sprouts or toasted grains, such as the Nigerian pito or the Peruvian chicha morada.
