Corn flour

Cornstarch is a starch obtained from corn that has many applications in the kitchen. In some recipes, cornstarch is used as a thickener to obtain a thicker sauce. In this case, it is important that the liquid in which it is dissolved (water, broth, wine or juice) is very cold, to then combine it with hot preparations. It can also be used for desserts, replacing 1/3 of the necessary flour with cornstarch: the cakes will be softer and lighter. You can replace cornstarch with potato starch or wheat starch (frumina).
