Oregano

Oregano is an aromatic plant of Asian origin, very common in Italy, which grows spontaneously in large bushes formed by herbaceous stems with small oval leaves. Since the pink-white flowered tops and the small leaves are particularly fragrant, they are used in the kitchen to flavour foods.

Oregano has a fairly intense aroma and goes well with vegetables, in particular with fish and tomatoes (tomato and oregano are in fact protagonists of the classic pizza, the "Neapolitan").
