Panettone

Panettone is a famous and typical Milanese dessert (now widespread also nationally), linked to the Christmas tradition. It is made with leavened dough, eggs, raisins and candied fruit. The classic form is tall and domed; however, there are also stuffed or low versions (like the Genoese one).

The panettone must respect the classic recipe, which includes flour, sugar, butter, fresh eggs, natural yeast, raisins and candied fruit, these have to be checked on the label. In recent years there have been many surprising interpretations of the the classic version (for example with figs, lemon, chocolate and chilli pepper, gluten-free, steamed).
