Thyme is a small evergreen shrub that grows in Mediterranean regions. It produces dense twigs, with very small and fragrant leaves that go perfectly with stewed and roasted meats, stewed vegetables, and legumes.

Thyme often becomes part of the garnished bunch: in this case, the whole twigs are used. The leaves are also found dry; in jars or bags.
