Whiting

Whiting is a sea fish belonging to the Gadidae family. It has an elongated, slender body with a long and narrow muzzle and a large eye. It is blue-green in color with brown-yellowish shades on the back, golden on the sides and silvery on the belly. It is a very common fish in the Atlantic, but not so much in the Mediterranean.

It has delicate meat which, if overcooked, falls apart. It is excellent in fillets and then breaded, or floured, and fried.
