Cannolo

The cannolo , a typical Sicilian dessert, which was once prepared especially during the carnival . Currently it can be found in pastry shops throughout the year. The dough, crumbly like a wafer, contains a filling based on ricotta, candied fruit and chocolate. For the preparation, special steel cylinders are needed, around which the pasta is rolled and cooked in the oven before being stuffed.
