Kohlrabi is a herbaceous plant of the Cruciferous family resembling both the cabbage and the turnip; its root, in fact, has the shape of a large whitish, almost purplish turnip with long green leaves. The edible part of this vegetable is the root, its dimensions must not exceed that of an orange, otherwise it is hard and leathery. This cabbage is cooked like turnip.
