Chives is a small aromatic herb native to China, characterized by filiform, tubular leaves that grow in clumps. This plant reproduces several times during the year.

It has a delicate taste reminiscent of garlic and onion and is used cut into very small pieces to flavor salads, soups and omelettes. In hot preparations it should be briefly cooked otherwise it loses its flavor.
