Focaccia is a preparation based on bread dough, rolled out into a thin sheet and baked in the oven. It is flavoured with a little salt and olive oil but it can be also enriched with other ingredients such as aromatic herbs, olives, onions, etc. One of the most typical focaccia is the Genoese one. There is also a sweet version garnished mainly with fruit.
