Ketchup is a sweet and sour sauce, mainly prepared with tomato (the most common version is in fact the «tomato Ketchup»), vinegar, sugar and flavourings.

Ketchup is used to accompany grilled meats, hamburgers and fried eggs. It is also added to mayonnaise, to prepare the "pink sauce" for the Prawn cocktail.
