Lampasciuolo

Lampasciuolo , also called lampascione and lampagiòne , is a herbaceous plant cultivated for the production of small bulbs (similar to onions) in the shape of small pears or eggs, with whitish pulp enclosed in a series of rinds, called "tunics", of a light brown color. Its taste is slightly bitter and it can be eaten fresh, boiled, baked, or preserved in vinegar. Their season goes from summer to autumn.
