Palm oil. Also consumed in the Afro-American cuisine of Bahia under the name of dende , palm oil is extracted from the ripe pulp of the fruits of the red palm.

It represents an ingredient of primary importance in the diet of West Africa.

Its golden orange color gives food a lively aspect and an absolutely particular taste.

It can be difficult to digest , so it is advisable to consume it in a mixture with other varieties of seed oil (corn or peanuts). It is bought in African products shops.
