Sandwich is a type of preparation consisting of two buttered slices of bread, stuffed with different ingredients. It owes its name to the Viscount of Sandwich, a greedy card player, who to not the interrupt the game had slices of bread stuffed with cold meat served at his table.

The sandwich can be an excellent appetizer, but also a great snack.
