Have you not yet prepared your facial skin for the first sunny days? Start with the table. Some foods, more than others, are particularly suitable for invigorating the skin after the dull winter

If the fifty shades of gray are what's left on our face at the first thaw, then the spring sun may not do us justice. It is still possible to run for cover, with the help of foods that give the face a new radiance and possibly youth. Let's see what to do to make it shine, which of course, we have already started helping with the pre-spring detox drinks and the purification we continue to do thanks to herbs ...

First of all: hydration

Water: you have to drink a lot of it, especially on an empty stomach (the ideal would be lukewarm and with a few drops of lemon juice, drunk as soon as you wake up to promote the activity of the intestine) the skin will be more hydrated and elastic.

Green tea: It is rich in antioxidants and very moisturizing.

Extra virgin olive oil: in addition to being a real concentrate of vitamins, fatty acids and minerals, it also has great moisturizing properties. Therefore oil must not be missing on our table!

Honey: not everyone knows its many properties, including that of bringing water to the tissues in depth, guaranteeing the skin continuous hydration and a plumping effect. Honey is also antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. In short, a true elixir of youth!

Fruits and vegetables

It goes without saying that fruit (all) is good for you. Also with regard to the skin: the more you eat, the better! However it is worth mentioning the properties of some fruits in particular.

Citrus fruits: promote cell regeneration, giving the face brightness and tone. Take advantage of the late varieties!

Avocado: with antioxidant properties, it has a targeted action against the signs of aging.

Berries: they are a source of vitamins, potassium and magnesium and are naturally supplied with vitamin C and antioxidants. Excellent allies against free radicals!

Blueberry: particular attention should be given to blueberry, which is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, refreshing, astringent, tonic and diuretic. This small berry is very useful for strengthening the capillaries, counteracting the annoying redness. This season, however, we have to settle for frozen ones ...

Carrots, and the first tomatoes: they are rich in vitamins and beta carotene (useful for the complexion). Rich in vitamin C, they have a high antioxidant action.

Spinach: like all green leafy vegetables, they have great antioxidant and purifying properties. They counteract the signs of fatigue and aging.

The proteins

A protein-free body is a factory without workers. In order to function, our body needs a constant supply of proteins, which also have a very important action on tissues and therefore on our physical appearance.

Red meat: it is rich not only in amino acids, but also in high nutritional proteins, which favor tissue reconstruction and repair. Excellent source of iron, which oxygenates the tissues giving the face a healthy and luminous appearance.

Eggs: Like red meat, they are rich in proteins and vitamins. They therefore give firmness to the skin.

The Omega 3

Very important for fighting free radicals, they are fundamental components of biological membranes and epithelial tissue. Making a "full" of it means choosing the right foods: green light therefore to dried fruit (walnuts and almonds in the first place) rich in unsaturated fats and therefore "good" and to blue fish and salmome; but also to soy and seeds. A shield against free radicals.

Eliminate the waste

Having beautiful skin means first of all having good intestinal activity. It is important in this regard to consume whole grains, which are rich in fiber (as well as vitamins) and yoghurt, preferably low-fat. They therefore play an important role in eliminating waste, thus giving the skin a healthy and radiant appearance.

The do-it-yourself remedies: purify with bicarbonate

The scrub: simply dissolving a small amount of bicarbonate in water and then applying it to the skin with a light massage, we will ensure a deep cleansing to our skin.

The mask for oily skin: add the baking soda to the honey (ratio 1 to 1) and massage gently on the face with circular movements. The purifying effect of baking soda and then the pampering of honey will give you a velvety skin effect!

Olive oil as a makeup remover: from the series “nothing is thrown away", olive oil is fine, indeed very well, as a make-up remover. Even for waterproof make-up!

The honey moisturizer: by just heating the jar in a bain-marie and then spreading a small amount of honey on the face, we will obtain a real moisturizer. Seeing is believing!
