The wok is a cooking vessel of Chinese and Japanese origin, with a rounded bottom, flared sides, and two handles. The wok is particularly suitable for frying food in small pieces, but it can also be used for steam cooking: in this case, a little water is poured into the bottom and the bamboo baskets are placed inside.
